Create with any AI, keep everything

Use GPT, Claude, Gemini or an AI on your computer, in a browser tab; your history, files and memory stay on your device.

You shouldn’t need one app to chat, another for pictures, another for slides and another to read a PDF.

Anything in. Anything out.

With the AI you choose, in your language.

Nothing to install. Any AI, ChatGPT included. Your history stays with you.

Take your ChatGPT history with you.

Export it, drop the file in a browser tab, and carry on any conversation with the AI you choose: a free one, one on your computer, or your own Claude or Gemini. Keep ChatGPT or cancel it. Your history no longer ties you down.

Your conversations, their titles and dates, and the files you shared come across. Pictures ChatGPT made, what its tools did, canvases and saved memories stay behind.

How to move it

Every assistant calls itself personal now.

Personal, as in yours.

Theirs are personal because they read your chats, mail and photos on their servers. Jean is personal because what it holds stays with you.

In most AI appsWith Jean
Your historyOn their servers, in your account with them.On your device, encrypted, with no Jean account.
What it knows of youWhat it gathers from your chats, and from the mail and photos you connect.A memory page you read and change, in plain words.

The AI you choose reads what each request sends it, and nothing else.

Why Jean

Each promise starts with why it matters. Open any of them for the whole story.

Your AI

AI changes every month, and you may already pay for one.

Use the AI you want. Change it any time.

Ready for a family

Over half of US teens use AI for help with schoolwork, yet only about half of parents say their teen uses it at all.

Simple

Most AI apps make you learn them first.

One box. The rest when you need it.

More
  • Day one: a question and a box. Nothing to learn first.
  • When it helps: an offer, in one sentence above the box, at the moment it’s useful. “No thanks” is for good.
  • Later: a game for the curious, each find saying how to find the next.

Shareable

A shared conversation is usually a copy the company can read.

Share it. Only they can read it.

More
  • Sealed in your browser. Its key travels in the link, never to the host.
  • It opens as Jean drew it: charts, scores that play, pages that work.
  • Opened in someone’s Jean, it becomes their task, to carry on.
  • Or save it as one web page that opens in any browser.

Open

Apps change their rules, or close.

Open, all the way.

MIT licence, about 40,000 lines. Open standards, any AI, plain files.

The catch

Every tool has one. Here’s Jean’s.

The catch, plainly.

  • Jean is free; the AI behind it may not be.
  • No sign-up at all? Only with the AI on this computer.
Three more
  • That AI needs a recent computer: 12 GB of memory and a recent graphics chip. Not phones.
  • It can be wrong. Numbers are calculated; check the words, as you would a colleague’s.
  • Your work lives in this browser. Clear the browser’s data and it’s gone, unless you made a backup.

Questions people ask

Can I use it without signing up?

With the AI on this computer, yes. Start for free asks for a free OpenRouter account.

Does it work with Excel and PDF files?

Yes, and with Word, PowerPoint, photos and whole folders. It hands back finished files too: a chart, a table, a document in Word.

Does it work on a phone, or offline?

On a phone, yes, in the browser. Offline, with the AI on this computer, which needs 12 GB of memory and a recent graphics chip: not on phones.

Can I use my ChatGPT or Claude plan?

Yes, and Copilot’s: Jean uses the plan you already pay for, through this computer. No second subscription.

Can it make mistakes?

Yes. Numbers are calculated rather than guessed, and under every answer it says where it was done. Check the words, as you would a colleague’s.

Can I use it at work?

If your company gives you no AI, it works as it is. If your computer is managed, ask your IT: Jean is deployed like a web page, behind your company’s gateway and sign-in.
